Being from Chicago has it's pros and cons. The cons of course is how small the LGBTQ+ community is. I was in a long term relationship for 3 years with a young woman from a different state. Long distance?! You guessed it bitch. Long FUCKING distance. That had its pros and cons as well .. but we all know how long distance relationships go. That ended and I'm like, NEVER TF AGAIN.
Yeah right.......
July of last year, I had my eye on someone. She didn't know it but her friends did... lol that was slick of me huh? I reached out to a close friend of mine to see what her situation was... what she was about. She let me know what type of girl she was, Any whom, I slid into her DM. "I like your name." in the most flirtatious tone I could ever put on even though I was typing lol. She replied "thank you" with a follow up question of "what's your name?". We talked a bit and then I told her to text me with my number following behind it. She did not text me the whole entire day ya'll.
Fast forward to that night. A friend reached out to me and asked if I wanted to go to another friends birthday outing... If you know me, you know that was the quickest "no I could ever give. I wasn't feeling up to it that night but she told me she would go if I did. I put my clothes on, put on some makeup, threw on my gucci slides and headed to the party.
I got there, walked up to the birthday girl and my close friend that I met there and guess who seen?
YOU GUESSED IT! The girl I was dm'ing on instagram. I had plans on not saying anything to her because she didn't text me at all that day.. however, she ended up saying "hey" when I walked pass. I said "hey" and gave her the flirtiest smile because I knew exactly who she was. We talked the rest of that night...
I left the party early, went home and went to bed. Of course, I woke up to a text from her. I invited her over later that day and I laughed the whole day. Little did she know I hadn't smiled in weeks.
I felt out of place a bit because I liked her vibe but, she also didn't know I was moving to Atlanta in the next 2-3 months. So in mid-conversation, my maintenance man came to my apartment to fix my garbage disposal. He looked at me and said "are you ready for your move to Atlanta?" She looked at me and said "ATLANTAAAAA???!"
Here we are, 8 months later. In yet another, long distance situationship.
